Skin Department

Details of activities and achievements of the Department:

  1. On an average 180 – 200 patients are visiting skin OPD for consultation on daily basis.
  2. State Health Society – NLEP is being run within the Skin OPD premises, in which Leprosy affected patients are given free medicine, Other Aids/ appliances along with treatment.
  3. A STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection) Clinic having a STI – counselor, is being run within the Skin Department for free counselling and active treatment.
  4. Minor OT procedures like Wart/ Millia/ Corn removal, Punch Biopsy etc. are being done.
  5. Cosmetological procedures like chemical peeling, Mole removal, Scar Treatment are being done actively in Skin Department.
  6. Newer treatment modalities like treatment of Acne Scars with Dermaroller are being actively integrated in Skin OPD.

Details of Best Practices and Innovation:

  1. Every necessary effort is made to ensure cleanliness and hygiene within the Skin Department.
  2. In view of the heavy footfall of the patients, a separate Token System has been introduced within the Skin PPD premises, in which individual patients are allotted separate Token numbers to avoid inconvenience and hassle free management.
  3. Bio – Medical waste is being managed in an effective way by using separate coloured bags as per laid norms.
  4. Minor OT equipments are regularly autoclaved and Germ free environment is maintained in Minor OT in order to avoid any undesired infection during Minor OT procedures.

Activities planned for Future:

  1. Treatment of Hair fall and Acne Scars with platelet Rich plasma.
  2. Laser Treatment for Acne/ Scars/Hair Removal.
  3. Latest and newer developments in field of Dermatology and Cosmetology are introduced on regular basis as per the available resources.
  4. On an average 250-300 patients are visiting skin OPD for consultation on daily basis.
  5. State Health Society- National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP) is being run within the skin OPD premises in which Leprosy affected patients are given free medicine, other Aids/appliances along with treatment
